MARIA CALIX

Maria De Los Angeles Valladares Calix, age 91, a resident of Hohenwald, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her residence. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born August 31, 1933 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, she was the daughter of the late Moises Enrique Valladares and the late Romelia De Jesus Calix Valladares. Maria loved the Lord and was a devout Catholic, she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Maria loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking and teaching her daughter and granddaughters how to cook. She loved nature, flowers, coloring, music, dancing, and word search puzzles. Maria was an independent and strong woman and will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Maria Valladares (Carmelo) Landaverde, brother, Jorge (Yolanda) Valladares, grandchildren, Maria Fernanda Paz, Sofia Paz, Luis Paz, Alexia Lazo, Camille Paz, and Danielle Landaverde, and her son Cesar Paz.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughters, Yulisa Paz and Claudia Paz, sisters, Maria Castro, Isbela Valladares, and Altagracia Valladares, and brother, Rolando Valladares.
