gordonsburg/little swan news

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 199

The past week has been a terrible week for storms and rain, in many areas of the southern United States there has been lots of damage from the hurricanes that came onto the land. There was also the loss of many lives and much damage to buildings, homes, roads and many other things. We pray for all those in the areas where these storms struck. Even with all the rain that fell in the area the creeks never got up, I guess it was because we were so low on water levels from the drought during the last several weeks.

Those I know which are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Elizabeth Boggs, Cathey Carroll, Gertie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Nita Cottrel, Robert and Pat Dickson, Polly Edwards, Paul Gandy, Ophelia Green, Barbara Hinson, Wayne Holloway, Leon Hunter, Monette King, Lillie Mitchell, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Judy O’Guin, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Harry Runions, Marsha Runions, Russell Runions, Vera Runions, Terry Stutts, Randy Willis, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others we may not know of but especially pray for those with cancer.

We wish a happy birthday to Peggy Sood and Patsy Carroll the 4th, Paige Roberson, Kelsi Peery and Glenda Atkinson the 5th, Donnie Haywood and Danny Loveless the 8th, Callie Garrison, and Joyce Duncan the 9th, and Eden Stutts and Laquita Carroll the 10th. Wishing for all these and anyone I missed a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate.

Happy anniversary to Eddie and Marlene Holt the 7th, and to Joe and Edna Garner the 9th, we wish for these couples many more years to celebrate life together

There was a lot of things going on in the area this past week with a ribbon cutting for the Kistler Haus on Maple Street, then the GYIDE Bar B Que at Yogie’s barn, and then at Pineview we had our fifth Sunday church then eat and then church at 1 pm. The October Fest will soon be coming up and with it there will be another week of activities to be enjoyed by all.

Raelynn Eastep celebrated her birthday over the weekend with family, we hope she had a wonderful time. Birthdays for children are so much fun and they really enjoy the celebration for their special day.

Prayers for all those families who lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about

Terry Evans Alley, Karen J. Kelley Swinea Houser, Brian Keith Long, Theresa Feinbach Haisley, Kenneth Lee McLaren, and Alva “A J “ Cootes. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

Prayers for all the families in the area and hope for you and your family to have a great week and enjoy the weather which may be cooler that normal for this time of year. Remember those who are less fortunate and help where you can and send cards or visits and call when you can. Letting them know we care sends a message of love and interest in them.
