EDNa carline davis

Edna Carline Davis, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 4, 1925, in Lewis County to the late Bertha Talley and John T. Hinson, Carline was a gracious and beautiful woman who lived a life deeply rooted in faith and devotion to her family. For 59 years, Carline was the beloved wife of the late George Davis Jr. She is survived by her children Janis Snell (Billy), Brenda Adair (James), Samuel Davis (Robin), Larry Davis, and Susie Skinner (Ralph), along with 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and her legacy of love, strength, and faith lives on through them.

Carline was a well-loved member of the Oak Grove community, where her door was always open, and friends never left her home without a sense of warmth and joy. Known for her creative talents, she found great joy in oil painting, sewing, gardening, and especially in making her famous chocolate pies. Her home was filled with beauty and love, much like her roses, which were as vibrant and carefully tended as the relationships she nurtured with family and friends.

A lifelong member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Carline shared her faith through her actions and service. She delighted the congregation with her floral arrangements, lovingly created to grace the sanctuary each Sunday.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 18th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald, with a memorial service to honor Carline's life beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will then follow in the Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Father's Hands Ministry at 363 Clifton Road, Hohenwald, TN. 38462 (Venmo @Disasterfeeding) or the Lewis County Food Bank at 131 Hankins Lane, Hohenwald, TN 38462.
