Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
“Hey, Jo, I absolutely love this season. Fall is my favorite and my best. October is peak fall don’t you think?”
I love the idea of October! Imagine not having it?
As Anne says, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. Let’s not skip from September to November. Don’t you love seeing the changing trees? They give me a thrill! I’m going to decorate my room with them.” - Anne Shirley, Anne of Green Gables
So, inspired by autumn and the spirit of Anne Shirley, I have come up with a few ideas to help you enjoy October!
Bake an Anne-Inspired Dessert
“It’s fun to bake, as long as you remember all the ingredients?” - Anne Shirley
Now that its cooler, try baking something special like an apple pie or a simple tart. You could also pick up something from your favorite baker/bakery for inspiration.
Read Books Like Anne
“ I’m supposed to finish my lessons, but that new book is so tempting!” - Anne Shirley
Curl up at a cozy coffee shop with a warm drink and dive into a good book, whether it’s poetry, an old-fashioned romance, or a mystery.
Enjoy Fall Foliage
Take a scenic drive along the Natchez Trace to enjoy the un-be-leaf-able views or go for a walk or hike on one of the many trails there. Bring home a few autumn leaves to decorate your table.
Host a Tea Party
“Oh, Marilla! Tea makes everything better!” - Anne Shirley
Invite a few friends for tea, either at home or a nearby cafe. Serve a simple treat like raspberry cordial or a freshly baked cake (just don’t forget the ingredients).
Whether you’re baking a cake, enjoying, the fall foilage, or sipping tea with freinds, remember to savor the simple pleasures of the season. Like Anne, let your imagination run wild and embrace the magic of autumn.
