person of the week: Lena Rayfield

Q.) Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

A.) I am a Christian, wife and mother of two. I am also a grandmother of four.

Q.) Where did you grow up?

A.) Perry County.

Q.) What is one of your fondest childhood memories?

A.) Fishing with my Daddy, riding horses with my Mother and traveling the world with my family.

Q.) What did you want to be as a kid? What did you actually become?

A.) I wanted to be a nurse to take care of people, but was pulled into the business world and I really enjoyed it. Now, I am a business owner and broker.

Q.) Who was/is your biggest role model?

A.) My Daddy. He and my mother raised us with Christian values. My Daddy taught us how to be hard working, to love our family and help those in need.

Q.) What are some of your favorite hobbies/ how do you like to spend your free time?

A.) I've always loved photography and traveling. Most of my free time is spent with my family and precious grandbabies and fur baby Charlotte. I also love going to Country Music concerts. basketball games and Jump-N-Runs with my husband and friends.

Q.) If you could go anywhere, in or out of the states, where would it be? Why?

A.) I would like to visit cities out West. I've not been to all of them and want to see more of the beautiful landscapes.

Q.) What is "your" song?

A.)Ashley McBryde - "Light on in the kitchen" It makes me think of my sweet Grandmother.

Q.) What is one of your favorite things about Hohenwald?

A.) My favorite thing is that everyone comes together and supports others.

Q.) What is your favorite time of year? Why?

A.) Fall, because I enjoy living in the country and watching all the trees chnage colors.

Q.) What do you enjoy most about your job?

A.) I get to work with my kids every day! Also, I get to see and talk to everyone in our community whom I consider friends.

Q.) Do you have a nick name?

A.) Yes, my babies call me "MeMe"

Q.) If you could invite any famous person over for dinner, who would it be? Why?

A.) Reba McEntire from "Reba" She handled life with grace and grit.

Q.) Is there any life advice you could give to our readers?

A.) Appreciate small town living every chance you get! It is the best way to spend your days.
