We are in the fall season of the year, and it shows everywhere you look, the leaves are falling at a very fast rate and the trees that shed will soon be bare. A time of year that many do not like because it is the death of many plants and green scenery. My mother never liked fall she said it made her sad to see all the beauty of the earth so drab. I guess we could look at it that way, I like to think of it as a resting time for the earth to begin in Spring to create a new and beautiful world as God created it. The temperatures have been in the thirties and forties at night but up in or near the eighties some days and not any or very little rain, but the dew has been heavy many days.

Those I know which are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Elizabeth Boggs, Gertie Carroll, Pam James Carroll, Spencer Clark, Nita Cottrel, Robert and Pat Dickson, Polly Edwards, Paul Gandy, Wayne Holloway, Leon Hunter, Monette King, Lillie Mitchell, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Judy O’Guin, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Bonnie Runions, Harry Runions, Marsha Runions, Vera Runions, Terry Stutts, Randy Willis, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others we may not know of but especially pray for those with cancer. Please remember those who suffered such loss and destruction from the storms in the southeastern part of our country and those families in Wyoming where the fires are raging.

We wish a happy birthday to Melissa Grinder the 26th, Ronnie Carroll the 28th, Nancy Watkins and Jenny Caroll the 29th. Wishing for all these and anyone I missed a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate.

Happy anniversary to Darren and Ashley Garner and Ricky and Helen Akridge the 19th, and Darrell and Diana Runions the 21st, we wish for these couples many more happy years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those families who lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about

Mary Florian, Bruce Warren Blanchette, and Edna Carline Davis. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

The children are all excited about this time of year when there will be parties and trick or treating which will yield lots of candy and other gifts for the children. Many have parties this time of year instead of doing the trick or treating door to door as it has become dangerous in some areas a people seem to try to harm the little ones. I like parties, and we had a trunk or treat and food after services on Sunday evening to allow the children to dress up and get food from the decorated trunks of vehicles. Everyone had a great time, especially the little ones.

Wishing for all families a happy and safe week and hope that health and happiness will be in your life. Remember those who are less fortunate and unable to be out and call, send a card, or visit if you can to let them know we care and pray for them.
