Panthers bring home win over zion

The Lewis County High School Football Panthers traveled to Zion Christian Friday, October 18, for a non-Region contest and brought home a 39-0 victory.

The Panthers scored twice in the first quarter. First was Braylon Bean on a three yard carry at 5:53 in the period. Drew Ray scored on a 7 yard run at 1:36 with Henry Sharp kicking the point after. LC 13-Zion 0.

Four different Panthers crossed the Zion goal line in the second quarter. Ray had a 67 yard TD run at 10:54 with Sharp adding the point after.

Kade Carroll took a 31 yard pass in for 6 from QB Brycen McDonald at 8:45. Sharp again added the point after.

Kolt Skelton carried the pigskin in from the six at 6:31.

Caiden Miller grabbed a 34 pass from Kolt Skelton at 1:12 in the second quarter for the final Panther score. LC 39-Zion 0.

No scoring occured in the third and forth periods.

Rushing totals were led by Drew Ray with 143 yards on 10 carries. Spencer Clark had 80 yards on 5 carries, Braylon Bean was 2 carries for 17, Kolt Skelton was 3 for 11. The Panthers had a total rush attack of 240 yards on 21 carries with 11.43 average.

Passing totals saw Kolt Skelton with 5 completions on 10 attempts for 81 yards and one TD. Brycen McDonald completed 7 of 8 passes for 95 yards and one TD.

Receiving totals had Caiden Miller catch 2 for 56 yards and a TD. Bentley Kelsey caught 3 for 42. Kade Carroll had 1 for 31 and one TD, Kobe Feichtinger had 3 for 21, Zeke Weibe one for 12, Phenix McDonald one for 7.

Total receiving was 176 yards on 12 receptions.

Lewis County had 39 total plays and 416 total yards.

Zion Christian ran 27 total plays for 36 yards.

Panther defense was led by Zeke Weibe and Nate James with 4 tackles each. Kade Carroll, Camlyn Owen, Samuel Moore, Corde Pope, Noah Hill, Brett Odom, Jeffrey Pinckley with two tackles each. Kobe Feichtinger, Spoencer Clark, Braylon Bean, Phenix McDonald, Nathanial Caamal, Corbyn Harris, Logan Graves, Tuff Lindsey, Braxton Clark with one tackle each. Nate James and Clay Jackson each had a fumnble recovery. Kade Carroll grabbed a fumblle recovery and a QB sack.

Lewis County will host the Summertown Eagles this Friday, October 25, at Bobby W. Stadium for a Region contest. Game time is 7 p.m.
