Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
I spoke with Josh Adair over the phone one day to explore why he chose to enter into the funeral and mortuary services business. His reasonings were simple and his intent selfless; he entered this industry to serve others during the lowest and darkest times of their lives and to help them find a pathway to closure. Josh and Diene's involvement with Jr. Pro Cheer and Football is one of their favorite ways to serve, by serving the youth of this community. Both have a heart for children, and enjoy helping to enrich and augment the history of Lewis County.
In order to renew his Mortuary Science credentials as Funeral Director & Embalmer, Josh completes at least 10 hours of Continuing Education Courses per year. Two examples of his trainings; include Restorative Heart Procedures and Dealing with Grieving Families. Due to graduate in May of 2025, Josh is thoroughly enjoying his new studies as he pursues a law degree. This comes in very handy as he negotiates contracts and navigates ever evolving regulations as a funeral director.
In recent years, Mr. Adair has seen a spike in families interested in cremation services and is working to expand his offerings in this specific area. It is not uncommon now for final viewings and even funeral services to be conducted in the on site crematorium. With cremation, the options and possibilities to celebrate the life and colorful stories of loved ones is endless.
As of July 1st, 2024 Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is proud to have been in service to Hohenwald and Lewis County for 5 years. As my conversation with Josh came to a close I asked for a final tip or insight into this career path he and his family have chosen and he left me with this; supporting families through loss and grief is a ministry, its a way to meet and assist such an interesting and varied group of people and as unexpected as it is, its led to life long friendships.
