The Lewis County High School Football Panthers hosted the Summertown Eagles at Bowwy W. Sharp Field Friday, October 25, falling 18-35 to the visitors.
The Panthers were first on the board after a 5 yard carry by Bentley Kelsey crossed the goal line at 7:21 in the opening period. A conversion try by Nathanial Caamal was not succesful. LC 6-Eagles 0.
The Eagles answered at 3:24 on a 22 yard dash by Logan Love. Bradley Hoffmad kicked in the conversion and Summertown took the lead. LC 6-Summertown 7.
The Eagles scored at 7:46 in the second quarter when Jaden Stoll took a one yard run in for a TD. Hoffman added the extra point. S 14-LC 6.
With just 28 seconds left before the half, Stoll ran for his second TD from 13 yards out. Hoffman added the conversion kick. S 21-LC 6.
The visitors received the second half kick-off and Kaden McCrory ran the ball 70 yards for a score. Hoffman’s kick brought the Eagles score to 28-6.
In the final period, Summertown scored once more when Love ran an eleven yard carry in to the end zone at 9:51. Hoffman kicked in the extra point. S 35-LC 6.
The Panthers were able to score when Brycen McDonald carried the ball in at 7:46 for a TD. A two point try by McDonald was no good. S 35-LC 12.
At 4:48 left in the game Panther Drew Ray caught a pass from QB McDonald for a 26 yard TD reception. The two point conversion attempt was not good. S 35-LC 18.
Rushing totals were led by Drew Ray with 87 yards on 19 carries. Braylon Bean was 3 carries for 17, Kade Carroll had one for 7. Bentley Kelsey 1 for 5. McDonald was 4 for -2. The Panthers had a total rush attack of 82 yards on 21 carries with 2.65 average.
Passing totals saw Brycen McDonald completed 14 of 22 attempts for 169 yards and one TD.
Receiving totals had Kade Carroll catch 3 for 51 yards. Bentley Kelsey caught 7 passes for 51 yards. Kobe Feichtinger had 2 for 33, Drew Ray caught 1 for 26 yards and a TD. Aiden Wise had one for 7.
Total receiving was 169 yards on 14 receptions.
Lewis County had 53 total plays and 251 total yards.
Zion Christian ran 51 total plays for 36 yards.
Panther defense was led by Drew Ray with 2 tackles each. Colby Cates had 6, Nathanial Caamal and Brycen McDonald each had 5 tackles, Kade Carroll, Samuel Moore and Corbn Harris each had 4. Braylon Bean had 3, Kobe Feichtinger had 2, Bentley Kelsey, Logan Graves, Tuff Lindsey, Nate James and Jaylen Edwards had one each
Lewis County’s final regular season game will be at home Thursday, October 31, with Waverly, at Bobby W. Stadium for a Region contest.
