Hohenwald Grapplers Compete in Clarksville

Four local wrestlers traveled to Clarksville on Sunday to compete in the Turkey Takedown, an annual wrestling event hosted by the Iron Knights Wrestling Club.

In the inaugural tournament of the 2024/2025 season, the Columbia Wrestling Club showcased several talented members who hail from Hohenwald, including: Brock Launius (41-44 lb weight class), Sam Launius (49-54), Buster Launius (58), and Steele Carroll (74-79).

Sam Launius delivered an impressive performance, winning every match by fall and completing the day with a perfect 4-0 record, earning himself a gold medal.

Buster Launius struggled to find his footing on the day, resulting in a 1-3 record, despite his best efforts in fiercely contested battles.

Although Steele Carroll and Brock Launius did not emerge victorious in their first mat-based contest, their performances demonstrated noteworthy progress and promise for the season ahead.

The wrestlers will travel to Chattanooga in two weeks to compete in the prestigious Rabbit Open 2-day tournament, hosted by the Rabbit Wrestling Club.
