Lewis County Person of the week:RUSTY ISBELL

Q.) Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

A.) My name is Rusty Isbell. I have been married to my wife Cortni for 17 years and we share a 13-year-old daughter named Jerzie.

Q.) Where did you grow up?

A.) I grew up in Hohenwald.

Q.) What is one of your fondest childhood memories?

A.) Mom and Dad taking me and my friend to Opryland.

Q.) What did you want to be as a kid? What did you actually become?

A.) As a kid I wanted to work for the F.B.I. I grew up to become the Administrator of Elections for Lewis County.

Q.) Who was/is your biggest role model?

A.) My father Neal has always been my biggest role model.

Q.) What are some of your favorite hobbies/ how do you like to spend your free time?

A.) I like to be outside working around the house, riding my motorcycle, or working in my shop. When it comes to free time, I love to be at home on my back porch with friends and family.

Q.) If you could go anywhere, in or out of the states, where would it be? Why?

A.) I've never really had a desire to travel many places. However, I will always take a beach trip. There is nothing better than going somewhere that doesn't involve an itinerary. You go for one reason, to sit on the beach.

Q.) What is "your" song?

A.) Dream On by Aerosmith.

Q.) What is one of your favo

rite things about living in Hohenwald?

A.) It is a close tight knit community that usually rallies to help those in need no matter the situation.

Q.) What is your favorite time of year? Why?

A.) Summer. There is nothing better than being outside on a warm sunny day. If you want to swim, you can, if you want to golf, you can, etc. The days are longer and just all around better.

Q.) What do you enjoy most about your job?

A.) Being able to participate in one the most important parts of our democracy.

Q.) Do you have a nick name? A.) Depends on which age group you ask. Most of my nieces and nephews, as well as my friend's kids call me either "Roo" or "Roo Bruh". Most all my friends decided to pick up on what my wife calls me, "Fweety".

Q.) If you could spend one day as a TV character, who would it be? Why?

A.) Michael Ross from Suits. Who wouldn't want a photographic memory.

Q.) Is there any life advice you could give to our readers?

A.) Honesty is always the best policy and while it may not seem like it at the time, it's just as easy to be nice to someone as it is to be mea
