Katrina Sue Adkins passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at the age of 50 in Hohenwald, Tennessee surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 3, 1974, in Centerville, Tennessee, she was a daughter of William Adkins and Martha Hickerson Reeves, radiating happiness and kindness throughout her life.
Katrina's infectious smile and gentle spirit were a comfort to all who knew her. She spent her days creating joy and cherished moments with her beloved daughter, Danielle Adkins, who was the light of her life. Katrina's love extended to her close-knit family, including her father, William Adkins; mother, Martha Hickerson Reeves; sister, Debra Peery (Mike); brother, Donnie Hensley and his wife Donna; sister, Valaurie Dunn and her husband Hulon Jr.; and brother, Victor Reeves. She was predeceased by her father Oscar Reeves, brother Vernon Reeves, and her grandparents, Marvin and Earline Hickerson, and Louise and Howard Adkins, as well as her cousin, Robbie Hensley.
Katrina's life was a testament to love and family. Her siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and her cherished godmother, Jo Brewer, all felt the warmth of her love and the joy of her company. She was a nurturing presence, always ready with a smile. Her home was a hub of happiness, filled with the laughter of family gatherings and the delight of visits from her foster siblings.
Her interests were simple yet profound, rooted in the pleasure of life's everyday moments. Katrina enjoyed watching TV, the indulgence of getting her hair and nails done, and the fulfillment of spending quality time with her daughter. These simple joys were amplified by the presence of her family, with whom she loved to spend time, especially during the cherished moments with her nieces and nephews.
To say Katrina was loving, gentle, and kind would be an understatement. She was the epitome of these virtues, touching the lives of those around her with her positive outlook and her ability to find happiness at all times.
Katrina's legacy will live on in the stories shared by her family, the memories cherished by her friends, and the gentle echoes of her laughter that will continue to resonate in the lives of all those she touched. The family received family and friends for visitation Monday November 18, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral Services began at 2:00 pm with a burial to follow at New Hope Church Cemetery. Brother Jerry McDonald will be officiating the services.
