Gordonsburg news

If the weather forecast is correct this will be a week of temperatures like winter, they predict temperatures in the low thirties or even in the twenties. I guess it is time, and we have been blessed with warmer days and cool nights for over a month. I guess many are getting ready for winter and planning to take one day at a time which is all we can and should do.

Those I know which are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Elizabeth Boggs, Nina Cottrel, Gertie Carroll, Pam James Carroll, Spencer Clark, Nita Cottrel, Robert and Pat Dickson, Polly Edwards, Paul Gandy, Wayne Holloway, Steve Holloway, Leon Hunter, Monette King, Lillie Mitchell, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Judy O’Guin, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Bonnie Runions, Harry Runions, Marsha Runions, Vera Runions, Addie Steel, Terry Stutts, Randy Willis, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others we may not know of but especially pray for those with cancer.

We wish a happy birthday to Damien Clayton, Vickie Clayton, and Wesley Haigh the 24th, Abby Grace Carroll and Leyton Kelly the 25th, Blake Kauffman the 26th, and Kendall Bates the 27th. Wishing for all these and anyone I missed a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate.

Prayers for all those families who lost loved ones this past week, these are the ones I know about

Maria Del carmen Cathcart, Darlene Jackson Watson, Katrina Sue Adkins, Bobby Gene Creasy, and Ruby Dell Steward. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

Next week will be the week of Thanksgiving and many families will be having get togethers and many other family things going on. I wish for you and your family a very happy and blessed thanksgiving time and enjoy the family you have for they will not always be there.

We have been blessed with a beautiful fall and the colors of the leaves on the trees have been so beautiful, even some said they were as pretty as in the mountains where many go just to see the many different shades or colors at this time of year. May you have a great week and be blessed with health and happiness.

Please take time from your busy schedule and remember those who are less fortunate and take time to call, visit, or send a card. We sometimes are shut-in ourselves and know what it is like to be lonely, so remember all those close to you and take time to visit if you can.

Thanks for all you do for us and the Girl Scouts. Wishing you and your staff a great and happy Thanksgiving week.
