Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Well it is a cool Fall morning here in our little valley, it was 38 degrees here on the porch but we did not have a frost, the sun is shining and it is a beautiful morning.
Bob is washing the breakfast dishes, for breakfast with his homemade hot biscuits he had some homemade pear preserves, see he gets paid well for his work.
This morning the cats were waiting for their bowl of warm milk and they have now snuggled back into their warm beds for their cat nap until the morning warms up just a little bit.
The cats had a warm blanket to sleep under last night, when it gets real cold at night I warm up a blanket for them, no they are not spoiled I just do not want Bob to worry about them getting cold.
We have had a busy week, Christmastime is coming and you can see it everywhere around this house. Bobby has been bringing decorations out of storage and I am putting them up, and I am loving every minute of it.
I have talked to several people and it seems everyone is excited and decorating early this year. No I have not forgotten what Christmas is all about, to me it is a time to celebrate.
We look forward to this time of year, so I decorate everything but Bob and the cats. I do not know of a better birthday to celebrate. Our house is a mess right now but in a few days everything will have a place.
Have you all seen all the pretty decorations going up all around town, everything is looking real nice. Our town always looks extra pretty this time of year.
I have had a good week, I got my first Christmas present this year. I got a big box of fabric, thank you Ms. Jeanette, she lives all the way in Florida and gets the Lewis Country Herald. She reads my ramblings every week and knows that I love to sew, thanks.
I have also been planning my Thanksgiving dinner, all our kids will be here and we always have a good time. We have 5 little grandkids that are from two years old to nine years old.
With us doing all this decorating I am going to have fix a good dinner today too, we are having brown beans and cornbread along with some fried potatoes. I think I may even make a peach cobbler.
Bob has also been enjoying some good egg sandwiches lately, Our good friend Chuck recently brought us some country eggs, you just can not beat an egg sandwich made with country eggs, they are so good just ask Bob, thanks Chuck.
Looks like Bobby is at the door again with another big tote of guess what, decorations. I am going to have to get busy, there does not seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done.
I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God bless,
Evelyn “E.T.” Trevathan
