Travis L. Moore

Travis L. Moore, age 81, of Summertown, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of Summertown, served as a Lawrence County Commissioner, retired from Lawrence County Highway Department, and a former volunteer at the Summertown Fire Department.He enjoyed riding horses and farming. Travis was a member of Summertown Baptist Church, a trustee at Brace Cemetery, and a graduate of Summertown High School; Class of 1961.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar "W.O." and Vernice Gilbreath Moore; two sons, Kevin and Richard Moore; one son-in-law, Jerry Ray; one grandchild, Katie Steadman; one great-grandchild, Connor Chambers.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Peggy Moore of Summertown, two daughters, Benita Ray of Summertown, and Jennifer Collier (Bruce) of Summertown, one sister, Glenda Burdette (Billy) of Summertown, eight grandchildren, Kimberly Chambers (Jon), James Ray, Phillip Ray, Andrew Collier, Evan Collier, Anna Collier, Garrett Moore, and Leah Moore; three great-grandchildren, Brandi Chambers, Colton Chambers, and Jamie Chambers.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at Brace Cemetery on Friday, December 13, 2024, with Tommy Lee Kidd officiating. Family requests memorials be made to Brace Cemetery.
