Well it is a very windy morning here in our little valley. It is not real cold yet but the wind makes it feel colder.
The cats were here early to eat their breakfast and they did not like these winds, so they ate and left for their safe places. I think they know when bad weather is on the way.
The weather lately has been up and down, one minute it is cold and cloudy and the next it is warmer and sunny. It is like it does not know what it wants to do, but we all know that Winter will be here in just a few days.
Our house is decorated inside and out for Christmas. Bobby has been busy cleaning and decorating and fixing things, everything around here looks like Christmas time.
Christmas time is coming and it sure will not be long now, and we are looking forward to it. I have already started making all my Christmas goodies.
Our daughter Pam has a Christmas tradition, each year her and her kids and grandkids make Christmas cookies. They look forward to that every year, they have fun and are making great memories.
This week is going to be a busy one. We have friends coming in from out of town and we also have a few get togethers to go to. Everybody always looks forward to seeing each other.
We are also looking forward to a brand new year coming up soon. I think everybody is wondering what it will be like, but God has it all under control.
We all know the cost of living is going to go up, but if we try to cut back here and there and we try to save a little bit, then we will make it just fine.
I am believing that after a while times are going to get better, we just need to pay a little more attention to the real important things in life.
I have been thinking about what I am going to do after the holidays, I have a couple of quilts that I have not finished yet, I am going to enjoy working on them in January while watching for it to snow.
Bob is now finished with the breakfast dishes and he is enjoying his coffee. I made some chocolate gravy and fried some ham to go with his biscuits, Do you all think he is spoiled?
We were out running errands the other day and saw a lot of people out shopping and we saw that most of the eating places parking lots were full.
We still love our home cooking the best, there is nothing much better than beans and brown cornbread with turnip greens and some fried sweet potatoes.
I hope everybody has a “Merry Christmas” and gets to spend time with family and friends, and remembers how blessed we are to have each other.
I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God bless,
Evelyn “E.T.” Trevathan
