The Lewis County Varsity Panthers fought hard against Wayne County Wildcats Tuesday, December 10th, but even with 35 rebounds eventually fell short, 65-69. Scoring for the Panthers were Dakota Hull leading with 19 points and 13 rebounds, Steele Moseley knocking down two shots and had 14 assists on 28 made baskets with 8 points, Drew Ray (18), Bo Banks (8), Maddox Tanner (5), Julian Jones (4), and Jaxon Fite (3).
The boys suffered another heartbreaking defeat Friday 13th, in a home game against Frank Hughes Lions. With 14 lead changes throughout the game, it was one of momentum shifts, but the Lions, on the final shot, made two points to take the win.
Dakota Hull was the leading scorer for Lewis County Varsity Panthers with 17 points. Lewis County Varsity Panthers was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 19-34 on twos. Maddox Tanner and Steele Moseley each hit multiple three-pointers for Lewis County Varsity Panthers. The team shot 6-17 (35%) from beyond the arc. Lewis County Varsity Panthers controlled the paint, grabbing 28 rebounds. Julian Jones led the team with 10 rebounds. Lewis County Varsity Panthers passed the ball well with 17 assists on 25 made baskets. Bo Banks led the team with nine assists. Tanner (16 points), Moseley (11 points), Banks (9 points), Jones (4 points), Drew Ray (2 points), and Cade Lomax (2 points) helped out Lewis County Varsity Panthers as well.
