Columbia Mall Sold to Highest Bidder: Highland Capital

Highland Capital announced last month, the official acquisition of the former Columbia Mall. The company plans to redevelop the site into a Class A power center, with a projected reopening in 2025. A “Class A power center” mall consists of an open-air mall of 250,000 to 600,000 square feet with anchor tenants dominated by multiple big-box retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Best Buy) with a focus on value and national brands, with fewer smaller stores.
